Literary Follow-up-communication face-to-face and online

Interdependencies and Differences using the Example of Reviews of T.C. Boyles “Wenn das Schlachten vorbei ist” (“When the Killing’s Done”)

Using a concrete example the differences, commonalities and combinations of non-mediated personal literary follow-up-communication and corresponding online-communication referring to mass-media-contents because of the integrative capacities of the internet will be analyzed. The analysis aims to elaborate the characteristics of face-to-face-communication about literature which can be transferred into mediated follow-up-communication only with difficulties or not at all. The significance of those characteristics for the literary reception is to be questioned. Against the background of a meanwhile widely spread but, depending on different demographic groups, still heterogeneous internet-use, differences in this perspective will be shown.
